Mosi Gatling, SVP of Strategic Growth & Expansion at New American Funding, is a visionary leader with over two decades of experience in the mortgage industry. Recognized consistently in the top 1% of all loan originators by the Scotsman Guide for the years 2021-2023, she empowers potential homebuyers and coaches mortgage officers to excel. Committed to equity and inclusion, Mosi serves on the NAMB Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and actively advocates for accessible homeownership pathways for all families. Mosi believes that the terminology used in fair housing discussions is due for a modern update. She emphasizes the importance of language that reflects the diversity of communities today. Instead of labeling individuals as "minorities,"Mosi advocates for acknowledging the richness of diverse communities. In her consultations with mortgage companies, real estate brokerages, and new homebuilders, Mosi focuses on diversifying their structures to better serve evolving demographics. She encourages a shift towards more inclusive language and practices that resonate with diverse homebuyers. For Mosi, it's not just about prequalifying buyers; it's about guiding them on a path towards homeownership. She advocates for replacing terms like "prequalification" with "homebuyer assessment," signaling a supportive and compassionate approach. Furthermore, Mosi emphasizes the significance of intentional marketing efforts that authentically represent diverse communities. She believes that inclusive messaging and deliberate outreach efforts can make a substantial impact in bridging gaps in homeownership opportunities. Learn more about Mosi here.
